Surprise and Good Bye

Sometimes we are totally surprised by life. That is why being flexible and open to new ideas is so valuable. Seeing life as an adventure rather than a well thought out plan can be so much fun. I love going to new places and trying new things.

I was sharing with my sister and husband, who are angels in human form, that I am the type who does minimal study before I travel someplace new. My sister and I were to travel to Japan this week to attend her son's wedding. She had started to explore the areas we were going and what to expect. Thus she was increasing her excitement and enthusiasm for the trip. Most people I know do this.

What I did to prepare is to read what I needed to know and learned what not to do so I would not make any cultural mistakes! I looked at the trip as a new experience and adventure. I am like a little child who is fascinated by the sights she sees.

Right now I am in the process of having the most surprising and awe inspiring journey possible. It started a few weeks ago!

When I had my quarterly visit with my oncologist, he walked in the room and said "I am shocked!" My test results showed that I now had more cancer. To make a long story short, I am now in hospice. A surprise for my family and me.

I want all to know how beautiful it is to share this special time with family and to say good bye to so many wonderful people in my life. This adventure I am on now has no words for the views and new awarenesses I am having. I don't want to know all the places I will visit. I just want to see them as part of this journey.

We do not know when the end date will be-this is an open ended ticket. God knows and he is my travel guide. I do feel it will be soon and I am so at peace with this. I am having so much joy show up each day. Loving kind people are caring for me.

It is important to me to say "Good Bye" to you and let you know how grateful I am that you have been on this journey with me.

When your time comes, I hope you have as much peacefulness and excitement for what's next as I am having.
